Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for your gender, birth date, self-described health level, tobacco use, the coverage amount you want, and the term length—10 to 30 years. Those six answers are all the quoting service needs to return rates from each carrier. Your name, address, phone number and email are not collected unless you proceed to apply.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

They are the rates each carrier quotes for your selected health class and term length. The carrier sets the final premium after underwriting, which may improve, confirm, or adjust the class. Nothing shown on this site is an offer of insurance or a guarantee of any price.

What happens when I click Apply?

You choose a carrier and the amount, then enter your name and continue into a secure application prefilled with your answers. The application is run by the carriers' platform and handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency. You can stop and resume anytime, and you sign electronically.

Will I need a medical exam?

It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount, and your health answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting that decides immediately for eligible applicants based on application data and records, without a paramedical exam. Each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.

Is a longer term better?

A term should match the years when an income loss would hurt the household: a mortgage to pay off, children to raise, a business to stabilize. Longer terms lock in the rate for longer, but cost more monthly. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year terms side by side.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool does not collect your contact information, we do not sell or share your data, and our measurement does not use cookies. The privacy page details everything collected and who collects it.
